I have been a slacker, not posting every day. I am going to start posting every day again, and attempt to go back and catch us up ! Thanks for sharing in my miracles every day!

Snow dance!

The boy was doing a snow dance to try to get more snow falling. He was jumping on what was left of one of our snowmen and singing and dancing. It was pretty dang funny. He said that he wants more snow because it "makes it Christmas time." I said that I think it will probably snow again before Christmas, and he said that the day it snows it is Christmas. His logic cracks me up sometimes.

Wonder what they want for Christmas.

The Elders somehow found out that hubby plays Santa, and convinced him to don his costume for some pictures. I wonder if they have written letters yet to request their presents ?!

Size matters not

My little Jedi runs our house. It doesn't matter that she can't talk, we know what she wants, and we do it. The force is strong with this one. =)

Santa Daddy

Every year since the boy's first Christmas, Daddy has played Santa Claus at work. The boy refuses to sit with any "other" Santa. This year, the boy has started calling him "Santa Daddy." He was very excited to go to see Santa Daddy and sit with him. Santa Daddy asked "What's your name little boy?" And the boy gave him this great "you've got to be kidding me" look. I love how baby girl is staring up at him, as soon as she realized that was her Daddy. We have a picture VERY similar to this one, of the first time the boy saw Santa Daddy. Speaking of the boy, last year, we were at our ward Christmas party, and Daddy wasn't Santa. We stood in line for a long time to see Santa, and when we were next, the boy says to me "That's not Daddy!" I told him I knew, but it was ok, we could still go sit with him. The boy FLAT OUT refused to go sit on that Santa's lap, and turned in the line and yelled to all the other kids "That is NOT Santa!" He wouldn't sit in his lap, or even look at him. So my picture was of the boy pouting standing in front of Santa. It was still pretty cute, especially because of the story behind it. Daddy will be Santa at our ward party this year, so the boy will not stage a protest this time. It cracks me up that things are so black and white, right or wrong, to the boy. Daddy not being Santa is just wrong. Today, the boy told me there are only two things that make him happy. Snow and Santa Daddy! Too funny.

All the leaves are brown...and the sky is grey.

I went for a walk, on a winter's day...and I saw this tree. I love this tree. Every time I pass this tree, I think to myself "I want to take a picture of that tree." So today I did. I just think it is beautiful and peaceful. I think all the branches are very dramatic. I love the snowy wintery landscape...even if it was a bit too early this year!

Happy Turkey Day!

The kids and I had a fun morning today though, since Daddy had to work, we made pumpkin pancakes with cream cheese "filling." (Can't bring myself to admit it was frosting!) Then we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, and started getting out Christmas decorations. Then, since our oven is broken, and we won't get a new one till next week, we went with Nana to a potluck turkey dinner at her church. It was nice to not have to buy anything, not have to cook anything, and not have to clean anything! The only bummer is that we don't have any leftovers! We had a good day, and tonight at midnight, I get to go to Wally world for some great deals with a dear friend!

Lumos!

The boy has only seen the first Harry Potter, and I didn't think he really paid attention. But, we broke this icicle off the car and he insisted on holding it. I couldn't figure out why he wanted it, but he started waving it around and saying "yummo-s." I couldn't figure out what he was doing until it dawned on me that he was actually saying "lumos." I asked him if he was doing a spell and he informed me that he was making light with his "ice wand." He cracks me up. What a smarty pants.

Triangles or Squares?

I have to ask the boy EVERY DAY how he wants his sandwich cut, because it changes daily. Today he said he wanted BOTH! He was very insistent that one sandwich COULD in fact be cut into both triangles and squares, so he left it to me to figure out how. It cracked me up, so I had to take a picture of it. I don't know how he could possibly already have jelly on his face, since he had not bitten into his sandwich yet! =)

SNOW DAY!!

Boy howdy, did we get a snow day! It started about 7:30 am and literally did not stop until about 7:30 pm. For 12 solid hours it DUMPED snow. I don't know what the official measurement was, but outside our door we got about 12 inches of powder. We had quite a day! We built a snowman, threw snow balls, made snow angels, sledded down the hill, took pictures, and had hot cocoa. It was a lot of fun. The boy LOVES the snow. Baby girl...not so much. She cried almost the entire time she was outside (less than 10 minutes.) Maybe she will get used to it, I bet we'll have more snow this year. I had such fun with the boy today. Our snowman was built at about 9 am, so by the afternoon, it was completely buried under new snow!

My little Snow Angels

The kids look so adorable in their matching Snow baby jammies. I can't get over how beautiful they both are. I am so blessed to have such sweet angels, and they make quite the pair. They LOVE to be together. They get along so well, and the boy is such a protector for his little sister. I love them so much, and I am so glad that they love each other too.

Eskimo kisses!

We got our first little snow flakes today. It did not stick at all, just a few little flakes falling. When I said "it's snowing!" the boy informed me that it is not "snow" unless it piles up on the ground, this was just "snowflakes." He is such a doll, he has such a big personality, and he is so smart. A friend gave us this adorable little outfit for Baby girl, and it's pointy little hood just cracks me up. She is such a little angel.

Wolverine boy

I don't know what was up with the boy's hair.... it looks very "Wolverine" like here. He is adorable no matter what, but when his hair is done up it just makes me smile. When he was little, it stuck up all over the place no matter what, but now we have to put gel in it to get that "just woke up" look. He doesn't really let me spike his hair up that often, so when I get to, I have to document it. I swear I did not mean to make it look like Wolverine though!

Hanging out with Daddy

Baby girl loves to be upside down. It is really quite funny to see her playing with Daddy, she always kind of rolls over, just expecting Daddy to hold her legs. She was giggling so hard that she started snorting. What a goof ball. (Daddy too!)

Snuggle bunnies

Baby girl always gets up in the morning to be nursed, and then sleeps for a few more hours in our bed. This morning the house was awfully quiet, and I got a sneaking suspicion that the boy was in waking up the baby. He always wants her with him, I have a very hard time keeping him away while she is sleeping. Of course, there he was in bed with her, but he was all snuggled up and falling asleep. They both kind of woke up before I could get the camera, but they are still very cute all snuggled up.

Full harvest moon

It was such a gorgeous, crisp Autumn night that I had to run out and get pictures. Unfortunately I only had my little point and shoot camera with me, so they are not the greatest. The weather has been getting consistently colder....perhaps we will have some snow soon? We never got ANY last year, so the boy would be very excited if we did!

Seriously underwhelmed

Baby girl was not impressed with the dinner entertainment. We were dancing around, making noises, trying to get her to smile...no dice. She was thoroughly unimpressed. She is so funny and opinionated.

Stick 'em up!

The boy LOVES the missionaries. It is such a joy to have them in our home, and to have their influence and message. Today, the boy and Elder B discovered that Nerf darts stick to Elder F's sweater, so they ganged up on him! It was fun and funny. After, we had a great game of whole house hide and seek.

Families can be together forever!

I was privileged to attend the sealing of my dear sweet friend to her husband and children today. She asked me to take pictures for them, so this is just two examples of what I did. I am so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and to KNOW that families are forever. I am so glad to know that marriage does not have to be "till death do you part" and instead can be for "time AND all eternity." I am thankful to my friend for allowing me to participate in such a special sacred day, and I am so very happy for her and her family.

Indians made cereal necklaces?

When I picked the boy up from Preschool today, I (like usual) asked him what he'd learned at school. He said Indians. I asked "what about Indians?" The boy said "they made things to trade. But I can't trade cuz' I'm eating my necklace!" He is so funny and precocious.

She's got the cutest little baby face!

I was trying to get some good portraits of baby girl in this outfit that our friend gave us, but she was not cooperating! Instead of just being cute and sweet (dare I hope for a smile?!) she was making all these faces. Of course, she is still cute and the pictures are adorable, but not in the way I'd hoped for! Oh well, she sure is making her personality known these days!

Sippy cup blues

I've got the sippy cup blues. I can NOT get baby girl to drink from a bottle, so I figured I'd try sippy cups. I thought I'd found one she would drink from, but she seems to have lost interest in it. EVEN when I put breast milk or apple juice in it! So I guess we'll keep trying. Here she was quite annoyed because I kept trying to get her to drink out of it.

Should I be worried?

The boy's favorite friend these days, Lil E happens to be an ADORABLE little blonde haired, blue eyed, dimpled cheeked bundle of energy. She is gorgeous and fun and loud. And I caught them snuggling in a tent they made in the play room. They are 3.

What the hail?

Today it started POURING and amidst all the water, it started hailing. I looked outside and said "It's hailing!?!" and the boy piped right up "What the hail?" I think he meant "what is hail?" But it was so stinkin' cute and funny the way he said it. I couldn't really get a great picture of the hail, but I wanted to include his little quote.
Another cute one:
Boy: Jesus told me everything. (By the way, this conversation was out of the blue.)
Mom: Oh yeah? What'd He tell you?
Boy: About God.
Mom: What about Him?
Boy: (With a "duh mom" look.) He's cool.

Love bugs

The boy LOVES to hold Baby sister. He always wants to hold her and play with her. He is the best big brother. I hope he stays so protective and loving and sweet towards her. She just idolizes him. They make quite the pair. Especially since they both have great crazy wild hair!

Funny faces

The boy was very specific when I asked him what he wanted for breakfast. He said...quote..."Egg hair, pancake eyes, marshmallow ears, cheese nose, bacon mouth." There was no previous discussion about this. I don't know how he came up with this particular breakfast, though I am thinking it might have had something to do with Curious George. So, that is exactly what he had!

"I do 'dat!"

The kids and I were invited to diner at a dear friend's house since Daddy is away at drill. The boy found these puzzles that belong to her grandkids and insisted on putting them together. The first 2 he did were 24 and 32 pieces, respectively. This one was 100 pieces. I told him I didn't know if he'd be able to put it all together. Wouldn't you know it, he had it done in about 25 minutes. He had me come look and when I told him he'd done a good job and that I was proud of him, he said "I know. I do 'dat!"

Splish splash she was takin' a bath

Baby girl LOVES her bath time... now. It is quite a change from how she used to feel about it. Now she is all smiles and giggles and splashing. She thinks it is fun to have water dumped on her head, and she loves to have her hair washed. 6 months ago, this is how she felt about it... I'd say she's changed her tune!

This is where I live

I can't believe how beautiful our little town is. We can drive 10 minutes in any direction and have a beautiful view. Driving most directions, we can find a beach, or we can go the other way and head up a mountain. It's amazing. I'm lucky to live here with my children and husband whom I adore. (The white spot in the middle is a flock of seagulls.)

Today I feel...

It was my turn to teach pre- school today, and our lesson had to do with feelings. The kids had a lot of fun making different faces for the camera. The boy especially loves to put on a show. It was really funny to see them interacting and laughing with each other and making faces.
