Making sparkly cards
The boy decided to make Mother's day cards. He had very specific criteria. 1) They must be sparkly. Bring on the glitter glue! 2) they must have the person's name written on the front. 3) They must have pink and red hearts. It was a fun project to do together.

You hoshkosh Daddy?
The boy loves to hopscotch. He always wants two drawn, so that Daddy or Momma can play with him. He is very particular about the colors, the direction it is drawn, and how the numbers are written. (Notice Daddy's has a "P" at the top....by order of the boy.) It's so cute to see him throw his rock and then hop from square to square. He hasn't quite gotten the hang of hopping on one foot, so it's fun to watch. He loves to "hoshkosh."

Who was that masked man?
The boy is big time into playing super hero. His cape says "Super Big Brother" on the back, and he takes the responsibility seriously. He was running around with that mask over his eyes which was hilarious, because he can't really see anything but his feet when he is wearing it. You can relax, citizens, the world is once again safe from naughty-doers and yucky stuff!

...to teach and preach and PLAY as missionaries do!
The boy had so much fun with the missionaries tonight. They came over for dinner and then played with him, sword fighting, spinning till they all got dizzy, and playing pirates. It is obvious that the Elders have a love for my son, which warms my heart. The boy started calling the elders "Blanket" and "Pickle." I don't have any idea why, but they responded to those names, calling the boy "Fridge." It was fun and sweet.

Mommy Love
It's great to be a Mommy. The boy told me he wanted to take a picture of me. This is what he got, and when he was looking at it on the screen, he said "Mommy I want to always remember you." It was really sweet. I want him to always remember me as the Mommy who played with him, read to him, taught him the gospel, taught him his letters and numbers, snuggled with him on the couch, made him dinner, taught him how to treat other people. Hopefully he won't remember the Mommy who sometimes got frustrated or chastised him. I am truly in love with my kids. They make me want to be better every day. They make me so happy, and I am so glad they love me unconditionally.

A family is forever
The boy has always loved the temple. He was able to go inside and be sealed to our family two years ago, when Mommy and Daddy were sealed. We got the opportunity to take our boy and our baby girl to see the Vancouver BC temple open house. It was amazing to me that in the Celestial room, the boy was calm and relaxed (he wanted to take a nap!) and baby girl was cooing and smiling in her sleep. What joy it must bring their young souls to again feel the presence of their Heavenly Father so strongly, as if they were in their Heavenly home. I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to take this trip as a family, with the youth of our ward.

Baby's day out!
This is a big week end for baby girl. Her first road trip, first trip on the ferry, first time out of the United States, first trip to a temple. Our ward decided to take the youth to the open house of the Vancouver BC temple for Youth Conference. Since the hubby is the Young Men's president, our whole family got to go. Here, we are on the ferry, just about an hour into the trip, but we are so excited!

Snoozin'
One thing I LOVE about my children is that they both have the ability to fall asleep practically anywhere. And, once they are asleep, they stay that way. The boy was asleep on the couch when Daddy opened the curtains. Instead of rolling away from the light, or waking up (which was the intended goal,) the boy came up with this solution. Love it!

It will make me happy
The boy has started saying "It will make me happy..." when he wants something. For example "Momma can you paint my fingernails?" Me "No, only girls paint their nails." Boy "Pleeeeease. It will make me happy." So today I was looking for a blanket to put on baby girl, and the boy handed me his Superman blanket. Before I could say anything he said "Momma it will make me happy to share with baby sister."

Let me tell you 'bout my best friend...
The boy has taken to calling us his "best fwends." It is so cute and sweet to hear him say "Momma you're my best fwend." It melts my heart every time. He tells us at various times that we are all his best fwend, even baby sister. It makes me happy that though he may not completely understand the concept, he has chosen his family to be his best friend(s.)

For the beauty of the earth, we thank thee...
This is the view from my living room window...
Thou hast led us here in safety
Where the mountain bulwark stands
As the guardian of the loved ones
Thou hast brought from many lands.
For the rock and for the river,
The valley's fertile sod,
For the strength of the hills we bless thee,
Our God, our fathers' God.
Thou hast led us here in safety
Where the mountain bulwark stands
As the guardian of the loved ones
Thou hast brought from many lands.
For the rock and for the river,

For the strength of the hills we bless thee,

For you Momma
The boy was outside with Daddy looking at the wind bending the trees. Suddenly,he came running into the house and thrust a handful of dandelions at me. "For you Momma," he said and just as suddenly ran back outside. I followed a few minutes later, and found him with another fistful, and when he looked up for this picture, he said "I want to pick you all the flowers in the world!"

Traditions
I'm sure that most families have the same tradition, but we dye eggs together. The boy was the "cruise director" so to speak, telling us what color to make each egg, what to write on it in crayon first, etc. We made a LOT of eggs, so we will be having egg salad for the next several days. Baby sister is obviously too little to help, but the boy made her a special pink egg. We had a really good afternoon, watching General Conference all together (admittedly the kids slept) then making eggs. What a special fun day.

Joy
One thing I love about my boy is that he finds joy in simple everyday things. And, he shares that joy with everyone around him. He was playing in the bubbles, and said "hold on!" He ran into the house and got his pirate swords to "protect Mommy and Baby sister from the bubbles." It was so sweet. He brings a smile to my face every day.
